Phi Sigma Theta-- a scam or joke?

I recieved a letter in the mail about joining the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society. Basically you pay a one time fee of $50 and you are a member. Is anyone actually a part of this organization and knows if they have meetings or require some kind of community service? Or are they just wanting me to send them $50 so I can add a name to a resume that people think is a joke.
