Why are guys afraid...?

Why are guys afraid to touch or kiss girls? I mean I understand about not wanting to get rejected or anything, but why not give it a chance? If you're going out or something shouldn't you want to kiss and hold hands? I am just wondering why guys are afraid to get PDA with girls.
